AISC Certification and PythonX Automated Structural Line

Tuesday, December 10th, 2013

logo_aisc_transWe at Hubbard & Drake have worked hard through the years to earn a strong reputation as industrial contractors.  Our expertise is in piping, welding, civil, structural fabrication and installation, millwright-machine setting, shop fabrication, plant outages, subcontractor management and plant maintenance services.

We now have two very exciting announcements to make.  We have recently become an AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction) Certified Fabricator.  We are excited about this and are ready to look at your fabrication projects including those that require certified contractors.

In addition to our certification, we wanted to take the opportunity to let you know that we have added equipment in our fabrication facility that strengthens our ability to more efficiently meet the structural fabrication requirements of our customers. Learn more about the PythonX automated structural line we have installed and trained our personnel to utilize.  We are ready to offer you very competitive pricing on structural steel fabrication.

PythonXrevisedAlong with the PythonX, we have the ability to model in 3D and to generate our fabrication drawings directly from our 3D models. In adition, we can generate the files needed by the automated equipment to process the structural shapes efficiently and accurately. The combination of modern CAD programs and this machine help us reduce fabrication errors greatly.

I am excited about the advances we have made in the steel fabrication area.  It is my strong belief that we can improve your bottom line with this machine coupled with our quality employees.  Please consider us for your fabrication needs.  Call and stop by our office in Decatur.  We would enjoy the opportunity to show you our facility. Do not hesitate to call with questions or to just discuss what we can do for your company.

Hubbard & Drake now using Python

Wednesday, May 9th, 2012

PythonXrevisedStructural steel fabrication has a new productivity champion in the PythonX CNC Plasma Cutting Fabrication System. Its revolutionary technology brings automated 3D fabrication to processing beams, channels, HSS, angle, plate and bar. The PythonX torch head will actually probe and measure the piece to be cut, so it places each feature exactly where it needs to be. This compensates for out-of-spec beam geometry to give you finished beams that are in spec and good for the job with AISC-approved bolt holes. Find out more about PythonX.

PythonX CNC Plasma Cutting Fabrication MachineAny cut, cope or mark made in fabricating structural steel can be done with PythonX CNC:

  • Bolt holes approved for structural joints
  • Bevel cuts for Weld Prep
  • Length Cut Offs and End Squareup/Cleanup
  • Compound Miter Cuts
  • Slots/Notches/Cutouts
  • Scribe & Layout Marks
  • Cope Cuts and Complex Multi-Feature Cuts
